rio lounge: at the bafta tv awards 2018

As the UK’s most prestigious television awards ceremony, The BAFTA TV Awards is always a glamorous occasion.  We were therefore delighted to be asked, for the second year in a row, to provide our chic rattan hire furniture to this event at The Royal Festival Hall, London.

Events as important as this need to run like clockwork.

Security staff briefed our crew on event timings, and furniture placement, ensuring everyone was fully prepared for the busy evening ahead.

Then it was time to roll out the red carpet, check out the designer dresses, and hear the click of the press cameras!  The stars were on their way in for dinner…

Watching the celebs go by on the red carpet was definitely a highlight of this event. During the time between the briefing and set-up, our crew were lucky enough to get a few snaps… Amanda Holden, Claudia Winkleman and Declan Donnelly from ‘Ant & Dec’, amongst others…

With the guests all seated for dinner, a rush of frenzied activity then followed. Rolling up the red carpet and preparing the South Bank terrace for its transformation was the next step.

Making sure there was always something fizzy and/or chilled for guests to drink, both Villa Maria Wines and Taittinger Champagne were on hand with their pop up bars.  

To create the outdoor chill-out area, we used our curved Bulgari sofa sets, and the dark rattan Marrakesh Club Sets.

Hosted at the Royal Festival Hall, on London’s South Bank,  the BAFTAs’ venue is a perfect vantage point for some fabulous views of the London skyline.  Check out this picture of our outdoor furniture set-up from our awards ceremony furniture hire range, with the London Eye in the background: stunning!
