Outdoor and Indoor Furniture Hire – Pantone Colour of the Year 2022

Happy New Year to all our customers, suppliers and friends! Here at Rio Lounge, it’s become a bit of a tradition that every January, we check out the Pantone Colour of the Year. After another year of pandemic turbulence, with ever-changing rules and unpredictability, we were intrigued to know what shade those trendsetters up at the Pantone Institute had selected for 2022. So…. read on to find out more about this year’s shade. And, of course, we take a look at ways of incorporating it into your indoor and outdoor furniture hire palette this year.

Introducing ‘Veri Peri’ – a delectable shade of violet

The Pantone Colour of the Year for 2022 is Pantone 17-3938 – ‘Veri Peri’, a contemporary violet hue. This is what the Pantone Institute says about this year’s choice.

Indeed, violet and purple shades have enjoyed a resurgence in recent months, with Apple introducing a similarly coloured phone to its range of iPhones.  Plus, many top fashion designers have been incorporating this colour in their runway shows. It’s a truly modern take on a traditional shade, and the more we look at it, the more we love it! We can definitely see this featuring at weddings, corporate events and much more over the coming months.

How to incorporate this year’s colour in your event decor

Scatter cushions

Most of our hire furniture comes in neutrals such as white, black and grey.  Therefore, the customer has a blank canvas and the ability to create a whole variety of looks. Incorporating pops of statement colour is really easy using our scatter cushions. 

Inexpensive to hire alongside any of our white or black sofas, these little cushions can really bring a look together.  We had a look back through our recent events to show some examples of how our customers have used violet tones to bring their events to life:

This customer accessorised our faux leather sofa modules from the Ana Mandara range, co-ordinated with square Cabo tables . Purple scatter cushions juxtaposed with acid brights create a real eye-popping effect.

In contrast, this customer hired furniture from the same range, but has created a far more muted and serene look.  This was achieved by combining our mauve cushions together with dark red ones.

Florals

Flower arrangements are also a great way to bring in a colour theme to your event. For purple hues, think irises, lavender, and hyacinths. Take a look at this gorgeous garden party in a marquee; here you can see our white faux leather club sofas and unique Chesterfield benches, accessorised with mauve scatter cushions and some gorgeous spring flowers to pull the colour theme together.

Lighting

Muted purple toned lighting can look gorgeous too, particularly for evening events. For example: take a look at this image from a beautiful wedding at Monkey Island, in Berkshire.  In this image you can see our striking high ‘Titan’ table and clear ghost stools.  The mauve tinted lighting looks so pretty: simply perfect!
