King Power Royal Charity Polo – why rattan furniture hire is ideal for an outdoor sporting event

Following on from our blog last month, our long-standing affiliation with polo continued this week.  Our rattan hire furniture was seen at the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day.  Held at Billingbear Polo Club in Berkshire, this exciting fundraising event saw their Royal Highnesses the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex go head to head on opposing teams. What is the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day?

Teams compete for the Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Memorial Polo Trophy, raising funds for various charities supported by their Royal Highnesses. Distinguished guests flew in from around the world and showed their support for these worthwhile causes.

Both keen polo players for many years, the royal brothers took to the field on opposite teams.  Playing as part of the ‘King Power Air Asia’ team, the Duke of Cambridge wore a blue shirt. The Duke of Sussex joined the opposing ‘Tarmac’ team, playing in red. Ultimately it was William’s King Power team who had the edge, beating their opponents by 7 goals to 6, and winning the trophy. 

Of course, the royal princes playing polo were not the only source of excitement for visitors. Many hoped to catch a glimpse of baby Archie, the most recent addition to the Royal Family.  While their husbands were battling it out on the field, the Duchesses (aka Meghan and Kate) cheered them on from the sidelines with all their children in tow.
