Rio Lounge: hiring sofas and outdoor furniture for polo events

There’s a strong chance you will have noticed that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have been hot news this week.  Since their interview on Oprah Winfrey’s show in the US, everyone is talking about the Sussexes. However, no matter what your opinion on the royal couple, let’s not forget one key fact; Prince Harry is a mighty fine polo player! We cast our minds back and take a look at a couple of memorable events from 2019….

When Harry met William……on the Polo field

Polo is known as the Sport of Kings, so it seems apt that our future king, Prince William, is just as keen on the sport as his younger brother.  In an exciting event in 2019, the royal brothers competed on opposing teams in the King Power Royal Charity tournament at Billingbear. However, it was ultimately the royal children who stole the show, when they turned up in support of their dads, with Kate and Meghan too!  You can read more about it in our 2019 blog.

We helped to create this gorgeous dining area at the event using our stunning rattan South Beach bistro sets. Available in both black and white rattan, our client decided to use both on this occasion, which we think looks great!

Sadly we don’t have any evidence that any royal family members have actually sat on our furniture.  However, if you squint a bit at this photo, you can definitely see some of our white rattan in the background!

Another major polo event for us in 2019 was Polo in the Park, a three day event held at Hurlingham Park, Fulham. High on glamour, this three day event would typically attract a real party crowd.  We worked alongside three separate brands to create luxurious VIP and hospitality areas.
