A Christening Fit For A King!

It’s been a really exciting week here in the UK as our future king was born – all of us at Rio Lounge, the family party furniture hire experts, would like to send our congratulations to Kate and William. As well as being a life changing event, the birth of a new baby is also a great excuse for a party – maybe once things have settled down a little! Whether you are having a Christening, a Baby Blessing or Naming Ceremony you will want to celebrate the arrival of your little prince or princess in style.
Planning a Christening or Naming Ceremony requires a lot of thought. It is a really important event in your family’s life and one you will always cherish so here are our tips for making it a great success:
Make It Child Friendly
A Christening or Baby Blessing is a time for family and friends to get together and the chances are that many of your guests will be younger children. You don’t want them to get bored during the ceremony so why not create special party bags with quiet activities in such as crayons and a colouring book or sticker books that will keep them occupied? During the reception it might also be a good idea to hire an entertainer who will keep the little ones entertained whilst their parents have a chance to relax and unwind.
Get A Great Photographer
Children grow up so quickly and captururing the precious moments of the day will mean you can keep those memories forever. Hiring a professional photographer will mean that you get fabulous photos that will last a lifetime. Of course it is worthwhile to investigate which photographers specialise in baby and child photography as they will know how to get the best shots of your children and checking that photography is allowed in the church or venue where the ceremony will take place
Splash Out On Décor
Many people choose to hire a hall or marquee for their Christening or Baby Blessing party. If you do this sometimes you might find it can look quite plain if it’s not dressed correctly. Rio Lounge can help you with your room furniture and design. Our fabulous Marrakesh Club Lounge Sofa sets in white will always look fantastic and stylish and you can accessorise with either our blue teal cushions for a boy or hot pink cushions for a girl. The royal couple have been known to shun the traditional look, so our range of funky furniture might appeal to their tastes. You can also personalise the room with fantastic marquee letters of your baby’s name. Alternately, if you’re going for the more traditional feel, our white chairs are French in style – good enough for the King then? Maybe they’re good enough now!
Make a Memory Box
A Christening or Baby blessing is a really special event and it’s a great idea to keep a memory box afterwards with pictures and mementos of the day to share with your child as they get older. You can keep items such as invitations, party favours and bunting – you and your children will love to look through this for years to come.
