Rio Lounge On Love Island 2018

Love Island 2018 may be long gone from our screens, but it is still on our minds – and it was extra special this year, as Rio Lounge was involved with the show featuring items from our sofa hire range.
What we miss the most about this year’s Love Island
The reality dating TV hit was watched by thousands, as contestants searched for their perfect partner in their quest to find love. ITV’s BAFTA winning show caught everyone’s attention as the Islanders paraded around their stunning villa in Majorca, causing all kinds of drama. It may have ended a few months ago but we already can’t wait for next season! Here’s what we miss the most…
The people
What makes the show so watchable is the different people that enter the villa. From a jet-setting air hostess and a professional surfer, to an A&E doctor and the heir to the Brake’s fortune – Love Island 2018 had it all.
We knew it was going to be good as soon as we found out that Danny Dyer’s daughter, Dani Dyer, was going to be a resident of the villa! We can’t talk about the contestants without talking about Alex – the most awkward sweetheart you’d ever find in an A&E department.
With a little feature from Stormzy himself and a houseful of stars that were all easy on the eye, we were treated to some real characters along the way.
The villa
Love island wouldn’t be Love Island without the stunning villa. Situated on the gorgeous Spanish island of Majorca in Sant Llorenc des Cardassar, the luxury location is dressed perfection.
The bedroom decorated with striking blue and pink blankets, had striking images hanging on the wall. This is where all the contestants slept every night amongst the prying eyes of their fellow housemates.
You can’t have a luxury villa without a ginormous infinity pool and hot tub, of course. Not forgetting the gym area, allowing the stars to maintain those buff-bods throughout the series. The rest of the outside area was decked with stylish furniture, with our very own Marrakesh Club Sofa from our sofa hire range used by ITV for a pitch. ITV were very pleased with the sofa set and said that “the pitch went without a hitch and as you can see from this image the sofas looked great!”. The envy-worthy villa looked amazing, we’d love to stay there for a week or so!
The drama
It goes without saying that a bit of drama always makes for excellent television viewing, and this year’s Love Island certainly did not disappoint. With the numerous recouplings, Adam turning his attention to several girls before deciding Zara was the one, and not forgetting Georgia’s loyalty, the stars provided endless hours of entertainment.
The romance
At the end of the day the aim of the show is for the contestants to find love and that’s exactly what they did…for the most part! We loved seeing Dani and Jack together from day one, and it makes our heart rush that they are now engaged! The moment Jack asked Dani to be his girlfriend took us back to the old days of romance and we loved it. Bring on Love Island 2019!
